InPractice Portal

Evidence Based Practices (EBPs) have the potential to improve outcomes for autistic children, but identifying an effective practice is only the beginning. Successful implementation requires an environment that supports providers who are delivering the new practices. Research demonstrates that leaders can help create these conditions by  providing implementation supports, addressing barriers, and fostering a climate in which EBPs can become part of routine practice.

The goal of the InPractice Portal is to help researchers and leaders explore strategies that leverage leadership to facilitate the implementation of an EBP and support the needs of autistic children.   

 

Leadership strategies can help organizations create the conditions needed for an EBP to be adopted and sustained over time. The InPractice Portal draws leadership implementation strategies from multiple ongoing and completed  large-scale randomized trials that varied in their service settings, purpose, and leader types. The strategy that is most appropriate for a specific project or program will depend on the phase of EBP implementation, the types of leaders involved, and the service setting.
